Pathways

We recognise that moving to independence can be a difficult, risky business. Our aim is to provide young people with the necessary skills and support to make it a positive experience.

Our Pathways services offer an integrated range of supported accommodation and floating support or outreach.

The services range from high support for vulnerable young people with complex needs to low support for those who are ready to move on or are just settling into independent accommodation.

• Pathways, Wells Road, Bath – provides accommodation to vulnerable 16–19 year olds with high support needs and is staffed 24 hours a day. You can contact Pathways direct on 01225 339330.

• Pathways Outreach Service – provides support to young, homeless people aged 16–19 who are rough sleeping, in supported lodgings or in temporary accommodation. You can contact our Outreach Worker on 01225 339330.

• Pathways Floating Support Service – assists single young individuals, and parents aged 16–25, to sustain their own tenancies and achieve independence. You can contact our Floating Support Worker on 01225 339330.

• Drinkwater Court, Trowbridge; Bleys House, Chippenham; and Sidmouth Street, Devizes – consists of 8 one-bed flats, a bedsit and a six-bedroom shared house for single, homeless young people with low to medium support needs. For more information, call 01249 464399 or 01225 760621.

• Cleveland House and Cottage, Bath –a low support project providing accommodation for nine young people, with seven homes for single young people plus two large bedsits for teenage parents. To find out more, call the Pathways team on 01225 339330.

• Bloomfield Road, Bath – a high to medium support hostel for single young homeless aged 16–18. Bloomfield Road is a six bedroom house with shared kitchens and a large garden and is an extension to our Pathways. To find out more, call the Pathways team on 01225 339330.

Justin’s Story

When Justin was 17, he left care and was referred to Pathways supported housing at Cleveland House in Bath.

‘I remember that was a big step for me as I didn’t know anyone in the area at the time. However, two years on I’m glad I moved there and I’ve really settled in to the community.

‘I’ve joined the local gym and am plating in a five-a-side football team which plays in a local league. It’s really helped my confidence.

‘I also started looking for work and with help from my support worker, got a job at the University of Bath as a laboratory technician. I really enjoy working full time and I have made new friends.’
