For more than 25 years Shape Housing Association
has helped thousands of vulnerable people, from providing stability
and a safe place to live for people facing a bleak and uncertain
future, to support and training which has helped many shape the
rest of their lives. From 2nd July 2012 we will be called Curo

Founded in 1983, we are a specialist supported housing provider
working in particular with vulnerable young people and homeless
people. Many have complex needs such as mental illness, drug and
alcohol dependency or other challenging needs.
We are part of Somer Housing Group which is bringing together
all the Group's members into one stronger organisation - find out more at Forward

Shape's new homelessness prevention mediation service - Time to
Talk
We've teamed up with Bath & North East Somerset Council
to offer a mediation and support service for young people and their
families. The service is aimed at 16-25 year olds who are
experiencing difficulties staying in the family home.

Joe's story
'In the time I've been here I have been
involved in a number of activities including finishing a Learning
Power Award (a college course that helps with life skills like
budgeting money).
'I've helped put on DJ events at the Foyer and organised barbeques
for the staff and residents. I have also attended many workshops
and Somer Housing events; it has been a very interesting time
living here.
'I was homeless for about four years, living in squats and tents
and on friends' sofas around Bath and Bristol. This was not a
brilliant time in my life.'
