Applying for housing
At Redland we are committed to the principles of 'choice-based
letting' (CBL). This is a way of letting homes which is open and
transparent, and allows applicants to see what is available and to
apply for the homes that they want.
Choice-based letting is available from all the local authorities
where we have homes. We will always take part in CBL schemes as
long as they meet the principles of our lettings policy and of our
wish to house those in greatest need.
You should apply to your local council as follows:
HomeChoice West
You
can now apply to move home to anywhere within the West of England,
through the choice-based lettings scheme, HomeChoice West. The four
local authorities – Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South
Gloucestershire and North Somerset – have made an agreement which
means you can bid for homes across the area, even if you don’t have
a local connection (such as a close relative in the area).
From now on, five per cent of the homes available will be
offered to people without a local connection. You will still need
to meet any other criteria advertised for the property, and will
also need to be registered with the relevant local authority before
you can apply. If you would like to know more, you can visit the
councils’ websites or call them using the details in the table
above.
