Moving out

When you move out, please remember that you must give us four weeks' notice, in writing, to end your tenancy.

We will arrange for someone to come and see you before you leave. Please leave plenty of time to clean your home before you move. You should leave the property in a clean and tidy condition for the next tenant.

Please make sure that any repairs are carried out before you leave. You must put right any damage caused during your tenancy, and leave everything in proper order.

If you don't leave the property clean and tidy, we will charge you for putting it right.

When moving out remember to do the following.

  • Give us four weeks' notice in writing.
  • Leave the property clean and tidy.
  • Make sure any repairs you are responsible for have been carried out.
  • Remove bulky items and appliances.
  • Take meter readings and tell the electricity, gas and water company.
  • Tell the Housing Benefit and Council Tax departments you are leaving.
  • Tell us the address you are moving to.
  • Return your keys no later than 12 noon on the day your tenancy ends.
