How to pay your rent
By Direct
Debit
You can set up a monthly Direct Debit to pay your rent directly
from your bank or building society account. If you want to pay this
way, please contact us for the necessary forms.
At local shops
There are a large number of outlets throughout the country where
you can pay your rent, in fact anywhere that you see one of these
symbols. Remember to take your rent swipe card with you when using
any of these services. Please allow three working days for your
payment to reach us.
At the Post
Office
(cash or cheque)
You will need to take your rent swipe card with you when you use
this service. If paying by cheque make it payable to ‘Post Office’
and write your rent reference number on the back. Please allow
three working days for payment to reach us.
At a bank or by
standing order
To pay at a bank, please contact us for a paying-in book. You
can also set up a weekly or monthly standing order to pay your rent
directly from your bank or building society account. If you want to
pay this way, please contact us on 0117 938 2700 and we
will send you the forms for you to take to your bank.
By telephone (debit card)
Call 0844 557 8321 (24 hours) and follow the
step-by-step instructions. You will need your rent swipe card and
your debit card ready when you make the call. This call is charged
at the national rate. In addition, you can call our office
during opening hours and make a payment with your debit card. You
do not need to have a rent swipe card to make a payment at the
office.
By post
(cheque only)
Send your payment to the address below. Please make cheques
payable to ‘Redland Housing Association’ and write your rent
reference number on the back. Please allow seven days for payment
to reach us. Please do not post date cheques.

What do I do if I have difficulty paying my rent?
Firstly, you may be entitled to Housing Benefit from your local
authority to help with your rent. Whether or not you are entitled
to Housing Benefit will depend on your income, the number of people
living with you, and how much rent you have to pay. If you think
you might be entitled to Housing Benefit, or you can't afford your
rent, ask us or your local authority for details of Housing
Benefit.
If you are finding it difficult to pay your rent, please contact
us as quickly as possible. It is much easier for us to help you if
you let us know before you owe a lot of rent.
