Housing with support
Redland is not a specialist supported housing provider and so we
do not provide high levels of support to residents ourselves.
However, we recognise that many of our tenants, may need some
support – in some cases perhaps just to settle into their new home,
and in other cases for a longer period.
We have our own support workers who can provide some support,
and can also help tenants to get support from elsewhere.
We have a high proportion of older tenants, and some housing
developments which are specifically designed to meet their needs,
and so some of our support workers specialise in supporting older
people. They will visit these schemes regularly, will help to
promote social events, and will visit individual residents more
often if needed.
Our support team can also provide support older tenants wherever
they live, and to younger tenants and families, and can also help
to get more specialist and intensive support if it is needed.
We also have well established links with a number of specialist
support providers; we will sometimes help with providing housing
for their clients and they can sometimes provide help and support
to our tenants.
Supported housing focus group
The focus group is made up of staff and residents. Its role is
to set service standards and monitor them. The group also gets
involved with how we collect information on satisfaction levels as
well as with policy changes, areas of persistent complaint and new
developments.
