Bath Foyer
Many young people come to the Foyer due to family
break up, or have been ‘sofa surfing’ with friends for some
time.
Whatever the reason, every story is different. New residents
hear about us from friends and family, the Housing Options Team at
Bath & North East Somerset Council, Social Services, or other
referral agencies, such as Off the Record and the Probation
Service.

The Foyer has 31 self-contained flats and can
house and train up to 37 young people aged between 18 and 25.

Martin's story

I think I still need a little bit more
support for my journey to living independently, but I'm getting
there!
'Before I came to the Foyer, I was living in
a hostel. It was not a comfortable place and I needed a more stable
place to live. I also needed to learn how to support myself.
'I've done a lot at the Foyer since I moved in. I've produced a
newletter for tenants, went on a Prince's Trust Team Challenge, and
took part in a local World War 2 memorial. Foyer tenants met local
people who were in the war or lived through it.
'I've been supported with my benefits, my health and living skills,
and taken part in workshops about anger management, anxiety and
stress to help me deal with things better.
'I'm now working and getting better at managing my tenancy.'
