Pathways
We recognise that moving to independence can be a
difficult, risky business. Our aim is to provide young people with
the necessary skills and support to make it a positive
experience.
Our Pathways services offer an integrated range of supported
accommodation and floating support or outreach.

The services range from high support for vulnerable young people
with complex needs to low support for those who are ready to move
on or are just settling into independent accommodation.
- Pathways Wells Road, Bath – provides a 24-hour
service for 16-19 year olds with high support needs.
- Pathways Outreach Service – supports young
homeless people rough sleeping, sofa surfing or in temporary
accommodation.
- Pathways Floating Support Service – helps
single young individuals and parents aged 16-25 to sustain their
tenancies and improve their living circumstances.
- Drinkwater Court, Trowbridge; Bleys House, Chippenham;
and Sidmouth Street, Devizes – flats and a shared house
for single, homeless young people with low to medium support
needs.
- Cleveland House and Cottage, Bath – low
support, move-on accommodation for 16-25 year olds and teenage
parents.

Lisa’s Story

Before I moved into Pathways, I had a number
of serious problems. Since I moved into the project my mood,
behaviour and attitude towards life has changed dramatically with
the help and support of the staff.
'During my time in the project I have gained
confidence, self esteem and friends and I have found myself two
part-time jobs that I enjoy. I have also been involved in cookery,
art and gardening classes.
'I am a representative on the Equality and Diversity group for
BSHHA and as a member of that group I have confronted one or two of
my fears. Being part of the group has helped me to develop my
confidence and I now realise that I can make a difference and do
have things to say.
'My life has changed so much and after seeing a counsellor for two
and a half years the end date for that is now drawing closer. I am
a bit upset about it but I know I will be able to cope and I feel
quite calm about it coming to a close whereas six months ago I
wouldn’t have been able to cope.
'A year ago I didn’t have any direction and now I am working to be
housed preferably with my bunny and become a full-time trained
crèche worker.'
