Who our residents are

We regularly audit our tenants to find out more about them and to help improve our services.

The last audit was sent to 8,724 tenants, of which 4,013 (46 per cent) replied to section one and 3,760 (43 per cent) replied to section two, giving an overall response rate of 44.5 per cent.

Personal information

  • More than 50 per cent of tenants are aged 60 or over.
  • 87 per cent of tenants identify themselves ethnically as being White British.
  • 31 per cent of tenants describe themselves as being disabled, four per cent of whom are wheelchair
    users.
  • 72 per cent of tenants are either wholly or partly financially dependent on some form of benefit.
  • 71 per cent of tenants consider themselves to be Christian.
  • One per cent of tenants identify themselves as gay, lesbian or bisexual.

Tenancy information

  • 12 per cent of tenants have experienced anti-social behaviour in the past twelve months.
  • 17 per cent of tenants have had some form of contact with the Trust in the past twelve months.
  • Nine per cent of tenants consider themselves as either under or over occupying their current property.
  • 71 per cent of tenants have reported a repair in the past twelve months.
  • 10 per cent of tenants had some involvement in the work of the Trust.

Communication information

  • 89 per cent of tenants listed English as their preferred language, although 13 other languages have been identified by tenants as being their
    preferred first language.
  • Specialist forms of communication that were identified by tenants included Braille, sign language,
    audio and large print.
