Older Persons Festivities Day will bring the magic of Christmas
to Paulton

Sheltered housing staff at Somer Community
Housing Trust’s Hillcrest team have organised a fun-filled
Christmas celebration for older people.
The event on Thursday, 4th December from 1 to 3.30pm is open to
the whole community and will be held at Paulton Village Hall.
Highlights include:
- Entertainment including carol singers.
- Stalls from local bakers, florists, jewellers and more
Christmas gift ideas.
- A raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including
hairdressing vouchers and gift bags.
The afternoon is part of the Hillcrest team’s community project.
The office, based in Peasedown St John also covers the Temple
Cloud, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Paulton and Farrington Gurney
areas.
Harriet Bosnell, Older Persons Housing and Support Manager,
said:
‘We are following on from the success of our
“Get Active, Stay Healthy!” event as part of UK Older People’s Day
in October. Christmas is the perfect time for people to get
together and we believe it is really important to give older people
in the community the opportunity. It will be an enjoyable, fun
afternoon and we want to encourage everyone to come along!’
