Improving services
During March 2010, the Audit Commission carried
out a short notice inspection on behalf of social housing's
regulator, the Tenant Services Authority.
A team of three inspectors, including a tenant inspector,
examined the Trust's lettings, empty homes and gas safety services.
They also looked at performance on access and customer care,
equality and diversity, and value for money.
The inspectors looked at our balance of strengths and
weaknesses, and make judgements based on the services we currently
provide and our capacity to improve them. Nothing that they found
was a surprise to us, and we already had plans in place to make
changes in those areas, working with residents.
Since then, we have been working with residents to prepare
action plans that will put right the weaknesses they found. We are
required to submit the plans to the Audit Commission by 21st June
and they will be published here. All the actions need to be
completed either by the end of July or August.
