Sustainability Forum
The Sustainability Forum is a resident led group
that encourages and supports residents to take action on
environmental issues.
The world is facing the major threat of climate change.
Each and every one of us can play a part in stopping this happen by
reducing the amount of energy, fuel and water we use. There are
many simple things we can all do to make a difference by using
resources more carefully and reducing waste. Many of these steps
will also save us money.
The Sustainability Forum meets every six weeks to look at how to
tackle climate change and build more sustainable
communities. The Forum has worked on a range of practical
projects and initiatives such as:
- Providing energy saving information to residents.
- Holding awareness raising sessions and training
events.
- Distributing low energy light bulbs and 'bags for life'.
- Organising bulk refuse collections, junk-swap days and recycled
furniture sales in local neighbourhoods.
- Helping communities tackle local environmental issues such as
litter and fly-tipping, improving derelict land, and encouraging
wildlife.
New members are always welcome!
