How to pay your rent
By Direct Debit
You can set up a monthly Direct Debit to pay your rent directly
from your bank or building society account. If you want to pay this
way, please contact the Rents Team who will send you the necessary
forms.
At local shops
There are a large number of outlets throughout the country where
you can pay your rent, in fact anywhere that you see one of these
symbols. Remember to take your rent swipe card with you when using
any of these services. Please allow three working days for your
payment to reach us.
At the Post Office
(cash or cheque)
You will need to take your rent swipe card with you when you use
this service. If paying by cheque make it payable to ‘Post Office’
and write your rent reference number on the back. Please allow
three working days for payment to reach us.
By standing order
You can set up a weekly or monthly standing order to pay your
rent directly from your bank or building society account. If you
want to pay this way, please contact the Rents Team on 01225 366172
and we will send you the necessary forms for you to take to your
bank.
By telephone (debit card)
Call 0844 557 8321 and follow the step-by-step
instructions. You will need your rent swipe card and your debit
card ready when you make the call. This call is charged at the
national rate.
At B&NES council
Remember to take your rent swipe card or rent increase letter to
the council’s offices when using this service. Please note payment
can only be made by cheque at the counters. Cheques should be made
payable to ‘Bath & North East Somerset Council'. Please also
write your rent reference number on the back.
By post (cheque only)
Send your payment to the address below. Please make cheques
payable to ‘Somer Community Housing Trust’ and write your rent
reference number on the back. Please allow seven days for payment
to reach us. Please do not post date cheques.
