Somer Housing Group launches new website
4th January 2008
The brand new Somer Housing Group website has
been launched, providing a wealth of useful information and
resources for residents.
The group of housing associations includes Somer Community
Housing Trust in Bath, Redland Housing Association based in
Bristol, Bath Self Help Housing Association and Lantern Homes.
The relaunched website explains how to rent homes and buy
affordable properties through New Build HomeBuy (shared ownership)
along with information and advice about a range of housing issues.
There are pages with the latest news stories from the Group,
current jobs available and how to find our offices, plus visitors
can download a selection of leaflets, newsletters and policies.
There is a very big emphasis on accessibility – the website
meets the WC3 (the World Wide Web Consortium) triple-A standard.
Visitors can browse high-contrast, text only pages and a print
function outputs pages in larger text. Users can also change the
size of the main text on each page.
Residents have been involved in the creation of the website,
suggesting content and giving feedback on the completed site. To
help more residents access the website, computer terminals have
been installed at the Trust’s local service centres in Bath, with
another to be made available in the reception of the Group’s main
office at The Maltings in Bath in due course.
Maria Moxham, Group Director of Corporate Services, said:
‘First and foremost, our new website has been
designed to give our residents as much useful information as
possible. But it’s also a great place for anyone to find out more
about social housing in the region, our developments, and the work
that we do in our communities.’
